The Bible clearly teaches the principle of giving, and money is just one demonstration of commitment to the work and ministry of the church to which we belong.
Here at Tiverton Vineyard we want to demonstrate radical, sacrificial, spirit led generosity. Providing the church with the resources to do things well and to keep pace with where the Lord is leading us, whilst also demonstrating God’s generosity and heart by giving away and meeting the needs we encounter as we look and reach beyond ourselves.
Our Principals of Giving
Under Old Testament law, 10% of a person’s income was to be given as a “tithe”. Now under grace, we believe that we are free from the law, and we are encouraged to use the 10% as a guideline or starting point for giving to the local church, with any other offerings beyond that. As with any other area of involvement this is entirely up to the individual. We encourage each person to “give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor 9:7).
How do I start financially support the work of Tiverton Vineyard?
Tiverton Vineyard is wholly funded by its members; you can give to Tiverton Vineyard in a number of ways:
Clicking the Donate Button Above, which takes you to set up one-off or regular giving securely via Tiverton Vineyard Churchsuite.
Regular Standing Order
If you have internet banking you can set up regular giving yourself.
Our bank details are:
Bank: Barclays Bank
Sort Code: 20-67-19
Account Number: 53638669
Account Name: Tiverton Vineyard Church
Reference: TVC – (insert your surname)
If this is an option available to you then this would be our preferred method as the bank charges no fee to you for this form of giving. We ask that you set up the standing order directly with your bank and complete one of our pledge and gift aid forms, available on the Info Desk on Sundays. These should be completed, signed and handed in at the Info Desk or sent to the Church Office.
Weekly Offering
During our Sunday services, as part of our worship, there is an opportunity to give through the offering. Baskets will be passed around for cheques or cash.
Gift Aid
Whichever method you use, if you are a UK tax payer don’t forget to sign and complete the Gift Aid section on pledge form. This entitles Tiverton Vineyard to claim the tax back that you have paid on your donation – that’s currently equivalent to 25 pence in every pound, so your money will go even further!
